This is very popular in Korea and one of Mizons best-selling products.
What is snail mucin?
This actually deserves a whole post by itself and maybe I will add one in time, but for now just some short information.
Snail mucin (or extract if it sounds better) works great for aging and damaged skin.
It contains seven key benefactors to promote healthy, beautiful skin; allantoin, collagen, elastin, glycolic acid, hyaluronic acid, vitamin E and protein.
It is anti-aging and acts as an effective treatment for acne and acne scars without drying out the skin
What is hyaluronic acid?
It is an acid produced by your body and located in-between your skin cells. When you are younger your skin will have a high level of hyaluronic acid, which basically is a molecule that helps the skin to bind water. When the skin has a high level of hyaluronic acid the skin looks even, bright and elastic. The older you get the harder your body will have to produce this acid, the skin gets dryer and won’t be able to bind as much water and wrinkles starts to be visible. By adding hyaluronic acid in your skincare you will help the skin to increase moisture improves the skins barrier and elasticity and also serves as an anti-aging ingredient.
What is Adenosine ?
It is naturally present in all of our cells and function as a source of energy that supports healthy cellular activity. Added to your skincare routine it penetrates deeply into the skin to help prevent wrinkles and reduces sun damage. It is also anti-inflammatory
What is allantoin?
Is a natural chemical compound produces by animals (eg snails), plants and bacteria. Usually it is extracted from roots of the comfrey plant .
By adding it to your skincare it helps firming and moisturizing the skin. It also promotes cell replication and healing of wounds, scars.
What is Collagen?
It is a protein that occurs naturally in the body. By adding it to your skincare it won’t affect the production of collagen in the skin but it can be used as water binding agent to keep the skin moisturized.
My thoughts on Mizon snail recovery gel cream
This is pure love in a tube. Simple, cheap and such a great product. I use it at night as an extra moisturizing layer underneath my other facial cream. Main important ingredients, snail mucin, hyaluronic acid, Adenosine, Centella, portulaca and green tea extract.
Absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave a greasy film and the packaging is great, easy and simple.
Gel cream, I would more call it a gel in consistency. If you have oily skin this could be the only moisturizer you need. I add it underneath my normal moisturizer at night as an extra boost or I use it underneath my sleeping pack.
If you put it in the fridge it is really cooling and can be perfect to use on top of a sun burn. My skin is softer and smoother when I use it and feels really nice.
My skin very seldom reacts to any ingredients but as usually you should test it out before you buy a bunch of these.
I give this 6/7
