When first ordering this I did not have many expectations at all. I actually had never heard of it and I had not seen any review of it. It just happened to be on sale so that is why I simply got it.
I will say it is a basic cleaner. It contains no alcohol which my skin is really happy about. The cleanser makes my skin a little dry afterwards, but I have extremely dry skin so I don’t think this is something that will be noticeable to everyone. It is a common sensation to my skin.
I received an 8 gr sample size and had the opportunity to test it out, but I haven’t been able to test it enough for a full review. I usually want at least a month to be able to truly know if I like it or not.
According to others the pH level is quite high, around 8 or 9 which is not very good if you have dry or sensitive skin. I really had too small amount to see how it acted over time on my skin. According to Benton themselves they claim that the pH is between 5-7. But I really can’t say since I don’t have any pH testers myself… Yet.
This is a foam cleanser which can be used as an only cleanser or as a second step in the double cleanse method.
I really love this cleanser, it makes my skin really clean but without stripping it from every drop of moisture I have in my skin. When comparing this one to one of my former cleansers (Innisfree Jeju volcanic pore cleanser) I really do prefer this one. It is gentle on my skin, but still does a great job.
Do I really need to cleanse and what happens If I don’t?
Your dead skin cells will basically start building up creating a hard surface on your skin and it will feel ruff and uneven. The skin wont absorbs any moisture, due to that everything is clogged up. This is also what happened to my skin (read my skin story), not that I didn’t wash, but that my skin was so dry and I didn’t know how much I really needed to exfoliate (just because of my dry skin). So everything I put on just stayed on top. Nothing would penetrate my dry surface.
