What is hyaluronic acid?
It is an acid produced by your body and located in-between your skin cells. When you are younger your skin will have a high level of hyaluronic acid, which basically is a molecule that helps the skin to bind water. When the skin has a high level of hyaluronic acid the skin looks even, bright and elastic. The older you get the harder your body will have to produce this acid, the skin gets drier and won’t be able to bind as much water and wrinkles starts to be visible. By adding hyaluronic acid in your skincare you will help the skin to increase moisture improves the skin’s barrier and elasticity and also serves as an anti-aging ingredient.
What is Shea butter?
It is extracted from the nuts of the Shea tree which grows in western Africa and consists of unsaturated fat, essential fatty acids, vitamin E and D, phytosterols, provatamin A and allantoin. Shea butter protects the skin from the sun, its anti-aging, protects from dehydration, anti-inflammatory, collagen production stimulating and much more.
What is glycerin?
Also known as glycerol or glycerine. It is present in all natural lipids. It is one of the substances in skin that helps to maintain the outer barrier and prevent the skin from getting dehydrated. If one uses pure glycerin it can instead lead to an increased dryness. But in the right amount it can help other lipids do their job better.
What are ceramides?
They are naturally occurring skin lipids which are the major structure components of the skins outer layer. They are important for their water-retention capacity but also for barrier repair. This also decreases by age quite rapidly. So by adding ceramides to your skin routine you can help to restore the skins barrier and keep the skin moisturized. It will basically protect the skin from damage and prevent moisture depletion.
My thoughts on Skin watchers ceramizing cream
This is an amazing cream and is around 10-15 USD. It is made for all skin types but I would guess if you have oily skin you should use smaller amounts to start off with or only use it during nighttime. For my dry skin the Skinwatchers Ceramizing cream it is just perfect for both day and night and it really makes my skin feel great and moisturized. I am super happy that I found this cream and I will continue to use it. It’s not that I won’t test a lot of other creams because my vanity tells me I have to.
When I was looking for a cream to try out I actually couldn’t find many reviews on this and I didn’t know much about it. Instead I read reviews on the toner and a lot of people wrote that the toner was great so then I thought I had to try out the cream.
I really like the feeling of this cream. It penetrates my skin rather quickly and is quite thick in its consistency. The cream doesn’t leave an oily layer on top and have no irritating smell. It is sentenced but not with any perfume like scent instead more of a fresh creamy sent (if that makes any sense at all).
I will definitely continue with the Skinwatchers Ceramizing cream and it will be a rescue cream for when trying products that turns my skin into a desert.
I give this product 7/7
