Description
Axis-Y Complete No-Stress Physical Sunscreen uses reef safe ingredients (only physical active ingredients) that leave minimal to no white cast, stickiness, or pilling.
How to use it
Apply an appropriate amount to the face and neck, blend and pat to completely absorb into your skin.
Chemical vs physical sunscreen
I am not going into this super deep but I just wanted to let you know the main difference. A physical sunscreen contains Zinc oxide and or Titanium dioxide. This is a super effective protection against the sun since it is basically adding a barrier on top of your skin. They are also known for causing a white cast on the skin.
Chemical sunscreen. This is the opposite to physical sunscreen. It is simply a chemical compound with different ingredients which blocks the damage of the sun.
If you have the skin type that can manage both I would definitely go for a physical sunscreen. Since I find them both more effective and they are better for the ocean.
My thoughts on Complete No-Stress Physical Sunscreen
I will start by mentioning that I have super dry skin and sun protection products can make my skin really dry and patchy depending on what type I use. This one states that it is OK for all skin types but physical sunscreens contains ingredients like Titanium dioxide and zinc oxide that can be an issue for dry skin.
Packaging
I don’t know why I really like this packaging. It just feels a little extra fancy. Probably due to the clear dispensing pipe that is on it. But I just like the way it looks. It is clean package that really suits the product. The tube is soft so it is really easy to get all the product out.
Axis-Y Complete No-Stress Physical Sunscreen is super lightweight and easy to use. It blends nicely into the skin and it does not leave any sticky feeling to my skin at all. Neither does it feel oily or dry directly after application. It works really well with makeup and a full skincare routine as well. No matter how many skincare products I put on it doesn’t cause any pilling on my skin.
Directly after applying it, there is absolutely a white cast. And that is totally normal for a physical sunscreen. As soon as the product is absorbed the white cast is more or less gone (but not completely). At least on my skin color. If you have darker skin I really cant say if there will be a gray cast left or not. The white or gray cast is not that bothersome for me. It is more important to protect my skin than looking good.
There is no added fragrance but there is a natural scent to the product from the ingredients themselves but it is nothing strong or nothing that is annoying. The scent does linger quite a long time on the skin.
Axis-Y Complete No-Stress Physical Sunscreen is not waterproof so bare that in mind if you using it on a beach day. You will need to reapply after taking a dip.
So how did it work for my skin
When I first apply this to my skin it feels really nice. I love that it is easy to use and how it blends. But it is not working on my skin. I often have problem with physical sunscreens due to that they are really drying on me. It think it is the zinc oxide in the sunscreen that is causing me problems. What happens is that my skin turns really dry (it is really dry to start with so I have a huge issue with this).
And I simply cant use it on my face. I have tried this product during April and I will not use it again until the summer comes and see if it can work on my skin during that time (when my skin isn’t as dry). If not I will just use it on other parts on my body.
Conclusion
This can be a really nice sunscreen if you don’t have really dry skin. I am that kind of a person that cant even use facial powders on my skin since it just feel like my face is going to crack (because of dryness). And it actually can cause pain when it feels like your whole face cracks. If you have normal to oily or just a little dry skin this might be amazing for you.
I give this product 2/7
