What is a sun ampoule?
It simply is a concentrate that you apply to your skin when it feels stress and discomfort. Like after a day at the beach. It promotes skin rejuvenation and reduce redness.
How to use it
After cleansing, shake the ampoule before use. Attach the little plastic cap that comes with the product and break the glass bottle. Pour the fluid into the palms of your hands and apply to the face neck and decolletage. Pat gently into the skin and apply the rest of your routine.
My thoughts on Babor after sun ampoules
As I said earlier this is a product that was sent to me and I really don’t think I would buy it myself just to try it out (mainly due to the price tag).
When first receiving these I really felt they were a luxury product. They do come in small glass bottles which gives the products that umpf feeling😊. There are seven ampoules in one packaging so they do last you some time. On their web page it doesn’t say how often you can use it so I guess it is fine to use it whenever your skin feels like it.
I have been using Babor after sun ampoules after a day in the sun (or at the beach) when I felt that my skin was really stressed from the sun and water. This summer has been so weird in Sweden. It has not rained at all the temperature has been around 30 degrees Celsius all summer. Which is not a normal summer in my country. And since I have kids and live just a 2-minute walk from a nice lake, I have been spending a huge amount of time in the water and in the sun. I use sunblock all the time but simply it isn’t enough when you spend all of your days outside. Which made this a perfect summer to be using these.
There is a large amount in one ampule so it will be enough to use on the neck, chest and arms as well.
When applying it to my skin it feels a little bit sticky and that stickiness seams to linger on my face which is a feeling I am not very pleased with. Before applying this, I have been cleansing my face and using a toner as I normally would.
The ampules are strongly scented and this is something I wished companies would really stop doing. I am not allergic to any scent or have any problems with it more than I think that it is simply unnecessary. I don’t mind my products being mildly scented but I really don’t understand why so many products are heavily scented.
If you think about it you add so many products on your face, body and hair to begin with. Then a lot of people use perfume on top of that. Do anyone really know what they smell anymore…YES, I realized I lost the topic there for a while… sorry.
So back to the ampoules. When using one in the evening my skin did feel calmer in the morning so it really does what it is supposed to do. The product does claims that it will calm the skin directly and help with the redness after being in the sun. I did not notice that at all. My skin did not feel calmer after using it, but after a night sleep with the product on it did.
The ampoules come in glass bottles that you break with a special plastic lid that comes in the packages. And this gives the product that luxury feeling. The ampoules are really easy to use and who doesn’t like that.
So, what are my recommendations then?
Well, if you feel like you want a luxury product and you do have the money to spend, then by all means go ahead and buy them. They do work, but it takes the night (at least on my skin)
If you are more like me, a person who doesn’t like spending money if it is not a miracle product or if you simply can’t afford it. I would not recommend buying them. If this is the case for you I would recommend a bottle of aloe vera gel and you will have a calming effect on your skin as soon as you apply it.
I give this product 4/7
