My thoughts on Comme Deux lip oil lipgloss
First I will only say that I am not that much for lip glosses to begin with. I really don’t like that sticky feeling on my lips and I normally prefer to use tints instead. But I am always happy when I receive these products since I would like to use more lip products. But I really don’t know why I don’t.
I received this in one of my Goodieboxes and I haven’t used that many products from the brand before so I didn’t know what to expect.
Comme Deux lip oil is a lip oil and not a regular gloss, it is an oil but you get the effect of a lip gloss.
When ever I were lip glosses I get annoyed, I think they are sticky and uncomfortable for most of the time. I am not saying always but I guess my experience with lip glosses isn’t that great.
You know that feeling when your lips stick together and when you rub them together. This isn’t sticky at all in that way. This gives you the feeling of really moisturized lips. But if you hair is longer it might stick to your lips (as a regular gloss).
The oil is really glossy and gives a really nice shine without any sparkles or shimmer. As for its moisturizing properties it is really amazing. I have pretty dry lips and when I use this my lips feels great. That feeling remains on my lips as well, so it really is a great product.
You can use the Comme Deux lip oil on its own or you can use it on top of a lipstick or any other type of product. And no matter what product I use underneath it makes my lips feel really moisturized.
The lasting power is not amazing, but I really don’t expect it to be either. Since it is a lip gloss it does need to be reapplied when you eat or drink something.
The consistency is rather thick but it glides on really easy when applying it.
The confusing part
On Comme Deux web page one can read the following :
Say hello to the love of your lips! You asked for a lip oil, we created #liplove. Comes in three different colors: the rose, the red and the peach. The color doesn’t transfer onto the lips, but leaves only the classic, transparent look. Cool, huh?
If that means that hey, look we have a super cool product. It is clear in color but the packaging is tinted.. I really don’t get it….or if the product it self has some color to it that doesn’t transfer to the lips, why add that extra ingredient? When clearly not needed.
I do feel that when a company produces different versions of a product it should be just that, different versions. Not different packaging or different color that doesn’t show on your lips. It is only scent left, and to answer that, there is no scent at all. So that is not a thing that differs either.
My only conclusion is that they want to sell more products. I would totally be OK with that if there were differences between the products. But all ingredients are the same.
The packaging is simply and clean. If is it tinted I don’t know yet. But according to the company producing it the color is in the lip oil.
The doe foot applicator is rather thin, and not very fluffy but it doesn’t bother me and the application is still smooth. The doe foot goes all the way to the bottom of the packaging which means that you will get all the product from the tube. Which is great. I don’t know why some companies produces a doe foot that doesn’t go to the bottom of the tube. Just really confusing.
If you are looking for a really nice moisturizing product that does a great job in moisturizing this is for you. But you only need one “version” since they don’t differ.
Still the three versions confuses me, and I really don’t like being confused. If this was not the case, this product would be getting 7/7 but stuff like this annoys me so…
I give this product 6/7
