My thoughts on Contour cosmetics matte liquid lipstick

I received this in one of my Glossyboxes and I was really impressed by it. Usually in every subscription box I try, lip products is the most difficult for me. I usually go for neutrals and often they send baby pink or really strong red colors. I know it is probably about insecurity for me, but I really don’t think I can were strong colors when it comes to my lips. On other people I think strong colors look amazing, but on me, I think I look trashy.

So, when I received this one, which is a pink rosy nude, I was super happy. I will also say that I am not a very frequent user of lip products. I don’t like sticky lips or when my lips feel dry so I guess I am really picky about what I put on. Usually I end up with a colored balm or a lip tint.

The packaging of the lipstick is nice, it comes in a regular liquid lipstick frosted tube with a golden cap. The applicator is a regular doe foot.

The first time I used Contour cosmetics matte liquid lipstick, I was really surprised. I really can’t feel the product on my lips at all. Just this feature is a big win for me. I did not exfoliate my lips before using it the first time, and I did think I really needed to either. Normally when it comes to liquid lipsticks they tend to dry my lips out really fast and if I don’t exfoliate my lips first, my lips look really bad. But with my first use with this one I didn’t, and still no problem.

The lipstick dries down to a complete matte finish without any stickiness at all. After hours it still looked really nice, and I didn’t need to reapply it during the whole day. In the evening it was of course patchy but there were still colors on my lips. It is absolutely kiss proof and doesn’t transfer whatsoever.

I had no problem removing it with a normal makeup remover.

The lipstick has a scent to it, but it is more a chemical scent than an added one. I really can’t say what it smells like. But it isn’t a smell that bothers me.
