Why low pH in your cleanser?

Your skin is natural acidic (around pH 4,5) and the regular cleanser is normally alkaline and around pH 6-12.

Cleansers are normally made alkaline due to that it helps remove the dirt on once face. The backside of this alkalinity is that it causes your skin to dry out. So, if you are dry or sensitive (or actually all skin types) really should think about checking the pH off your cleansers. I have really dry skin (my skin story) and should be very aware of this, sadly I am not as good checking the pH of my products, but I will start right now, by ordering some pH sticks.

How to use it

Spread a good amount on your face and massage gently for up to a minute, then rinse with lukewarm water.

Packaging

It is just a basic packaging of a tube, and that suits me perfectly. I do prefer my packaging to be in a tube or a pump, mainly for hygienic reasons.

My thoughts on COSRX Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser

This did not impress me. I was really hoping it would but I felt that my skin felt the same compared to other cleansers, but I simply didn’t.

The first thing that struck me is the smell of this one. It smells super strong and the smell is definitely tea tree and some other herbs. But to me this is way too strong for a cleanser. The smell doesn’t seem to linger on my face, but just smelling it really puts me off. If the cleanser wasn’t as strongly scented I would give it higher points.

It does a good job in cleansing my face though, and that is the main goal of a cleanser. The good thing is that it does the job and at the same time has a low pH.

After washing my face, I don’t feel moisturized, but I don’t feel completely dry either. I do tend to hate the feeling before toner and the rest of my products, due to that my skin is so dry.

As with all other cleansers, you need to massage it into your skin for about 30 seconds to a minute to get all of your gunk out.

The COSRX Low pH Morning Gel Cleanser is a gel cleanser, but it does foam up to pretty little bubbles, if that is your thing?. You can use this either as your second cleanser (if you follow the double cleanse method)

Or you can still use it as your one and only cleanser if you don’t incorporate the double cleansing method.

My skincare routine consists of at least 10 steps and I will absolutely post an update on my routine. The one I have on the blog is actually quite old, and when testing new products all the time it simply has to change?.
