My thoughts on COSRX Ultimate Nourishing Rice Overnight Spa Mask
This mask is a sleeping mask and if you haven’t used one of those before you will probably find it a little bit weird. I swear by sleeping masks and I think they are the most easiest type of mask to use. Since really what you do is sleep with it. It really doesn’t get easier than that.
You might need to change your pillow case a little more often but it is totally worth it.
When I tried this one out 2015 I think I just loved it. I was new to Korean skincare and thought everything was amazing compared to what I tried before. So I decided to try this one out again and see if I still love it.
Packaging
COSRX Ultimate Nourishing Rice Overnight Spa Mask comes in a regular tube and I am really happy about that. The first time I bought this it came in a tub, which is not as hygienic as a tube. So I am really happy that they changed that.
The cream is white and not very thick. Depending on what products you are using before this one it might be a little wet on your skin. So whenever I want to use a sleeping mask I normally go for a not so heavy moisturizer befor applying it. But that all depends on your skin type and what products you are using. So you really just need to try them out and see what suits your skin.
If I use a regular moisturizer it absorbs really nicely on my skin. I wouldn’t apply a sleeping mask directly before I go to bed. Due to that it takes a little longer for it to absorb you need to plan a little bit ahead. So an hour before bed does make a huge difference.
COSRX Ultimate Nourishing Rice Overnight Spa Mask is scent free and I just love that. I have a really sensitive nose and I really don’t like products that are overly scented.
When I wake up in the morning my skin feels soft and moisturized. I cant say that I see any brightening effect on my skin. But I do use brightening products as serums and essences so I bought this simply do to its moisturizing properties.
This time I am not so super impressed as I was back in 2015 when I tried this mask for the first time. I know they changed the formula somewhat but not that much. It is still a nice sleeping mask but my skin doesn’t feel super moisturized in the mornings.
Conclusion
If you have dry skin or if you are acne prone or just need a really nice sleeping mask I really recommend you to try this one. If your skin is super dry as mine it might not be enough. But I do still feel a difference on my skin when using it.
I give this 5/7
