When I first heard about this cream people were really raising it to the skies. It was supposed to be really hydrating and amazing for sensitive skin. I have really dry skin (especially during winter times) and my main goal when it comes to moisturizer is that it has to be hydrating. So, does it live up to the hype? Let’s find out!

My thoughts on ETUDE SoonJung 2x Barrier Intensive Cream
Packaging
As all the other products in the SoonJung series it comes in a simple and clean looking packaging. It is a white tube with blue text. I like the packaging simply because it is clean and I am not a fan of moisturizers that comes in a tub (simply due to hygienic reasons).
Texture and scent
ETUDE SoonJung 2x Barrier Intensive Cream texture is really lightweight and usually when I come across a cream that is this lightweight it most often means that it is not going to be enough. But it does absorb quickly into my skin leaving it nice and moist. As for scent I am happy to say that it is none. I love when brand don’t add any fragrance to their skincare products. I am not sensitive to fragrance on a skin type level, but I do feel that we add fragrance to everything we put on, which just gets overwhelming to me and my apparently sensitive nose.
Performance
Well this one sadly didn’t do almost anything for me. I started using it during the summer and even then it wasn’t moisturizing enough to keep my skin happy. During colder seasons it actually doesn’t do anything for me. And as for strengthen my skins barrier I really cant say and I really don’t know how exactly I could claim that it does.
It does work well with other skincare products and makeup without pilling, so no issues there.
Pros and Cons
Pros:
Really gentle on the skin, especially for those with sensitive skin.
No fragrance.
Layers nicely, even if you use an extra moisturizer on top of it.
Cons:
Did not do anything for my skin and I simply cant use it as a one and only moisturizer.
Conclusion
Well, all moisturizers can’t be for everyone can they. This was not for me. It actually didn’t do much at all on my super dry skin. I did find another use for it and that is that I mix it with a foundation to get the foundation a little bit thinner in consistency. And for that it is amazing. But I do feel that the ingredients of this cream should work for a lot of people. So if you don’t have super dry skin as I do this might just be that perfect match.
I give this product 2/7
