My thoughts on Garnier BB cream in Light
This is one of those products I first bought a really long time ago and my impression then was that I liked it. I came across it again and figured I try it again and see if my thoughts differs from first time around.
The shades are still only two to choose from, and really I would have figured by now they would have added at least two more. But nope. So I decided to try the light version out.
As for being a light shade it is dark. I normally have difficulties finding a shade that matches but light is actually good for me (normally I am a medium or 23 (Korean shades)
Garnier BB cream comes in a simple tube packaging, and I really don’t have more to say about it. Due to simple packaging they can also keep the price rather low, and I do prefer that over fancy packaging.
This BB cream is scented. It is not a super strong scent but it is enough for me to think that it is too much anyway. Still it doesn’t bother me too much.
BB creams can in general be used on its own or as a priming product. Not with primer qualities but more of a super light cover before adding fuller coverage on top. I have never used it as a primer. I tend to think that primers does a much better job in priming the face. And I usually don’t go for full coverage.
The coverage of this BB cream is light and the coverage is fine with me since I prefer light or medium cover.
It contains Spf 15. When a brand advertises that it contains Spf I always get annoyed. I know that a lot of people think that it is great and figures that they don’t need a separate sun cream when they use this. That is really far from the truth. The amount of spf in this products is such a tiny amount that it actually wont due anything. I don’t mean that it is spf 15. The amount of protection you will need to get something equal to spf 15 is probably half this tube. So I always recommend using a sun cream on its own and not to look what the packaging of makeup says.
Comparing this BB cream to Korean BB creams it doesn’t even come close. They are completely not the same type of product.
When applying Garnier BB cream I have been trying different methods. With and without primer, still the result is a little patchy on my skin (I have really dry skin) but overall it looks ok. It is not a product I would use when going for a full makeup routine, since the finish isn’t super nice on my skin.
If you have dry patches make sure to exfoliate before applying or this cream will stick to those patches making them look even more obvious.
If you have sensitive eyes I would not recommend this. I do have sensitive eyes and even thought I am not using the product on my eyelids I still get some irritation from it.
Conclusion
My thoughts has really changed on this one. When I first tried it out many many years ago. When Sweden first came across the word BB cream I really did like it. Today, lets just say I have tried Korean BB creams and really they don’t compare to each other.
I give this product 1/7
