My thoughts on Garnier SkinActive Micella cleansing water
The first time I heard about cleansing waters I was skeptic. I just thought it felt strange and I did not think it would work. I still don’t see myself using this type of product on a daily basis and I don’t tend to use it exactly as it is supposed to be used. But I do think these types of products are practical today.
Packaging
Garnier SkinActive Micella cleansing water comes in a large 400ml bottle and you get a lot of product for the price you pay for it. The packaging is practical and the opening is good, which means that you get a good amount of product out without getting too much at once.
Texture and scent
As for texture it is basically a water, so that is what to be expected. It is also unscented which is what I do prefer.
As I said before, I have always been a bit skeptic to these types of product. And always when a product claims to be 4 in 1 or something similar I simply don’t believe it. What I mean by that is that I don’t believe it will do as good of a job as a product that is supposed to do just one thing. For example, I believe that a regular cleanser will always do a better job than this one. And I do believe that a eye makeup remover will be a better choice. But that said it doesn’t mean that this product is bad in any way. Just not as good.
So how do I use it
I use micellar water when I have not been wearing any makeup or heavy sun protection products. That is some mornings and some days when I just been at home not wearing any makeup or sun protection. Or when I am traveling and don’t want to bring a full arsenal of skincare products. I also got my teenage boy to start using it since it is better than nothing.
But what I always tend to do is rinse my face after I have been using it. Just to get any product off my face. Since it is a cleanser it will leave that product on your face and since my skin is super dry I will not let it stay on. I know you are not supposed to do that but there is nothing wrong with doing it. And it just feels better.
But does it do a good job in cleansing my skin?
Yes it does. But I don’t think it is a very effective eye makeup remover and I will not use it as that. I don’t feel that it does it well enough even though I soak my eyes I don’t think it gets my mascara off as easy as a regular eye makeup remover does. But it do make my skin feel clean after I have been using it and it does a nice job in cleansing my skin.
I really cant say if it is drying or not since I don’t use it continuously. But if you do and if your skin is really sensitive or dry I would rinse it off anyway. Just to be sure it is not drying.
Conclusion
Garnier SkinActive Micella cleansing water is a good micellar water and even if I am rather skeptic to these types of products to begin with I find it easy to use and it does work. So if you are looking for a cheap micellar water to try I absolutely recommend this one. You can always rinse your face when you have been using it just to get rid of any residues.
I give this product 5/7
