My thoughts on Rohto Mentholatum Hada Labo Gokujyun Cleansing Oil

Oil cleansers is a group of products that I just generally love. I think they do an amazing job in cleansing my skin. If I have been using makeup or sun screen I always reach for an oil cleanser.

I have used a lot of different oil cleansers but this is the first time a try one from Hada labo.

Packaging

It comes in a regular pump bottle which I think is a perfect bottle for these types of product. It is easy to get the right amount out from the beginning and two pumps is enough for my face.

Texture and scent

Rohto Mentholatum Hada Labo Gokujyun Cleansing Oil is a little bit on the thicker side. I do prefer when they are a little thicker and not too liquid. I do notice a scent but it’s not an added scent to the product, so it is probably just some scent from the ingredients used. If you prefer unscented products this will not bother you at all.

Performance

I do not always double cleanse. It depends on if I have been using makeup or sunscreen that day. I live in Sweden and we have more rain than sun here and I am not using sun screen if I am not going to spend some time outside. But if I am using makeup or/and sunscreen I always use an oil cleanser. Basically I feel that my skin isn’t getting clean if I don’t.

When reading the instructions on this one it says that it can be used as a eye makeup remover as well. I am not a fan of using oil cleansers as my eye makeup remover since I find that they make my vision a little bit too blurry.

Regular eye makeup removers can do this as well. But if the cleansing oil is on the thicker side it takes longer for the vision to clear. I also have rather sensitive eyes so the less product I get into my eyes the better it is.

So is this a good cleanser

Yes it absolutely is. It does a great job in removing my makeup and my skin feels clean after I have been using it. I do feels some residues on my skin after removing it but that doesn’t scare me. I feel more that my skin is hydrated than that there is product left on my skin.

There is not much effort in removing my makeup either. All that is needed is some gentle massaging the face and the product does the job. When rinsing with lukewarm water the oil turns white and is easily washed off.

Conclusion

I think that this is a really nice cleanser and it does a great job in removing my makeup. It is not expensive and suitable for most skin types as well. It will leave some residue but if you double cleanse that residue is gone.

So a good cleanser for a nice price

I give this product 6/7
