My thoughts on Illamasqua mini Beyond veil primer
This is one of those products I have been wanting to try out but never bought. And finally I received this in one of my subscription boxes and I was really super exited to try it out. Primers can be amazing but they can also be not so amazing. One really need to think about what type of primer one needs. As for me, my skin is super dry and can be patchy if I don’t exfoliate enough. So I can not buy a sebum control primer since it would be a catastrophe for my skin. As goes for an oily skin type being a super moisturizing primer. So my main concern is hydration and pores (blurring). Which makes this an ok match for me.
Packaging
The packaging is simply amazing. I just love it. But I do prefer my product to come in a tube or at least with a spatula. The original size of this one do come with a spatula which is always a good thing.
The texture is really gel like and I must say I find it quite nice. When applying it, it feels cooling and almost watery in its texture.
As for this being a moisturizing primer and really can’t agree due to that my skin is super dry and this is not enough to make any difference for me. If you have a more normal skin type this might be perfect for you.
Illamasqua beyond veil primer is scented in some way. It does smell more chemical (or maybe a little flowery) than anything else, but at least it is not a strong sweet smell. The smell does linger for quite some time but it really doesn’t bother me.
This primer contains golden shimmer which is an ok way to get a nice glow to your skin. I do prefer my skincare to give me that glow from within and I really don’t think it looks as good when you add shimmer to a primer as good skincare does. But that is just me. If you don’t care much for skincare and are looking for a primer to give you a nice glow this might be amazing for you.
As for me using this as a regular primer, well, no I wont. Simply because I don’t feel it gives me enough moisture and I do find it really expensive for what I get. Instead I have been using it by mixing it up with my moisturizer. Simply because I am way to cheap to not use it up…. sorry but that is the truth. And when mixing it up it gives me just a tiny bit of glow and I am ok with that…
I give this product 3/7
