Description

How to use it
Apply to skin using fingers, a sponge or foundation brush and blend.

My thoughts on MAC studio Radiance face and body sheer foundation
This is one of those products I have wanted to try for a long time but actually never came around doing. I am not a MAC person at all. I really don’t know why, but I just haven’t tried many of their products. But it is never to late is it?
So I decided to try one of their foundations.
My skin type is super dry and it can be really difficult to find a foundation that actually looks nice on dry skin. If it wont make my skin feel dry and stiff, it is looking patchy or clinging to my dry patches. So most often I find that light cover foundations is the way to go.
Packaging
MAC studio Radiance face and body sheer foundation comes in a somewhat nice packaging. It is not the most practical packaging but it works well for this product. At least it doesn’t come with a pipette:-) so nothing to complain about here.
Texture and scent
This one is a really light foundation (as its name implies). It is really liquid (don’t forget to shake the bottle before using it). It does not have any scent to it, which is just perfect according to me. I do prefer my makeup to be without scent, but sadly you don’t always get what you want.
Coverage, finish and overall thoughts
Coverage is always the first thing I look for when choosing a foundation or a BB cream. Since my skin type is super dry I can’t go for anything matte or powdery looking. This one has a lovely finish. It gives me a natural looking result with light coverage. The coverage is buildable and you can add a little extra were you feel like you need to. I don’t have any acne scars or many blemishes but I do have wrinkles and hyper pigmentation. And I find that when I use products with more coverage my wrinkles and dry patches just becomes more visible.
To get a natural looking result you can’t go with a full coverage product or even a medium coverage foundation because your skin needs to have a natural look to it and that it wont if you cover it all up. It does seem that most people prefer to have full coverage and I can understand that if you have scars and other strongly visible issues with your skin. But if you don’t, a light coverage is most often enough.
The shade range is 30 shades which is really nice (but of course they could do better). I found it really difficult to choose my shade and went for a N3 which is a little dark for me. I will go for a lighter shade next time just to be sure. But since it has light coverage it is not that big of a deal.
When applying I have tried using all different methods and they all work for me. I usually prefer using my fingers or a beauty blender but a brush will work nicely as well. I do find that it absorbs fast into my skin so I need to work rather quick with it. This is nothing that is a problem, just be aware if you have a skin type like mine.
I have been trying different skincare products and primers and it works amazingly with all of them so an absolute winner in my book.
Conclusion
If you are looking for something light coverage but buildable and a product that is suitable for all skin types including desert dry ones. This an absolute must. It will give you a more even looking glowing result and is one of my favorite products.
