I received these three mascaras from a collaboration with Lyko and kicks via Buzzador
This post is both separate review of all the mascaras as well as a comparison between them so you can decide which one you would want to try out.
When it comes to mascaras I am not a very picky person. I have pretty good eyelashes to begin with. They are rather long and fine. I guess typical Scandinavian hairs. So when ever I am on the look out for a new mascara, I look for formulas that doesn’t clump, easy to build up and that adds a bit of volume. But also a mascara that will suit sensitive eyes.
So with that in mind I am super excited to try these out.
Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara Review
Max Factor’s False Lash Effect Mascara promises to deliver the look of full, dramatic lashes. This mascara is ideal for anyone who loves a bold lash look without applying false lashes. It is described to give volume, depth, and a noticeable lift, making lashes appear thick, giving you a false lash effect.
Packaging and brush
The first thing I noticed was the size of the brush. It is larger than most mascaras I’ve tried before. The brush is large with dense bristles, making it ideal for coating each lash so there really is a point to this.
Application, formula and wearability
The formula is smooth to use and buildable. Just one coat makes a huge difference on my lashes both in volume and length. I found it to be buildable but without clumping my lashes together. I normally go for a natural look to my eyelashes and if you only use one layer, you will get a more natural result. For those with sensitive eyes, this mascara works wonderfully without any irritation.
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Dramatic volume for a bold, false-lash look.
- Smudge-proof and long-lasting formula.
- Buildable without clumping.
- Comfortable and suitable for sensitive eyes.
- No crumbling during the day.
Cons:
- Large brush can be tricky for beginners.
- May be too intense for those who prefer a subtle, natural look.
Conclusion
Max Factor’s False Lash Effect Mascara is perfect for anyone who wants their lashes to make a statement. It’s a fantastic choice for those who love a more dramatic look without the need for false lashes. While I found it a little difficult to use in the beginning, due to the large brush, I learned.

Max Factor MasterpieceMAX High Volume & Definition Mascara Review
MasterpieceMAX is a good choice for those who prefer a more natural, defined look with a bit of added volume.
Packaging and brush
The brush is on the thinner sides and has smaller, shorter bristles. This is a type of brush I used to struggle with since I always tend to poke my eyes with them. I really just think that this is a me issue and not the products brush itself. If you have shorter lashes this is a great brush type since it is really easy to reach each lash without clumping.
Application, formula and wearability
The application is rather easy if you take away the part of poking my eyes. It is a really easy to use mascara and it does a great job in coating and separating my eyelashes. Due to the fine bristles it doesn’t clump my lashes together when layering it. I also found it lasting a full day without crumbling. It works well with sensitive eyes as well.
Pros and cons
Pros:
- Great for definition and separation.
- Sleek, non-clumping formula.
- Works well for natural or everyday looks.
- Lightweight and comfortable for all-day wear.
Cons:
- Not as volumizing as some may prefer.
- I found the brush a little difficult.
Conclusion
The Max Factor MasterpieceMAX High Volume & Definition Mascara is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a mascara that provides volume and definition. It’s a fantastic everyday mascara, that suits anyone looking for a perfect everyday mascara.

Max Factor 2000 Calorie Pro Stylist Mascara Review
The Max Factor 2000 Calorie Pro Stylist Mascara is a good option for anyone seeking natural volume and length without an overly dramatic effect. It is described as giving a natural boost in both volume and length, making lashes look fuller without feeling heavy.
Packaging and brush
The 2000 Calorie Pro Stylist Mascara has a more traditional brush, which is easy to control and does a great job reaching every lash. I found this brush to be the easiest to use (without poking my eyes). It separates my lashes and coats them really well without clumping.
Application, formula and wearability
The formula is really lightweight. A single coat provides a natural, defined look with enhanced length and volume. If you want a more fuller eyelash you can build this one up as well without the lashes clumping together or feeling heavy on my eyes. You might need to wait a little while between coats, since I found that it dries a little slower than the others. It last all day on my eyes without any crumbling or smudging. This mascara works great for sensitive eyes as well.
Pros and cons
Pros:
- Lightweight formula with a natural finish.
- Adds volume and length without clumping.
- Buildable for more impact.
- Smudge-resistant and long-lasting.
Cons:
- Not as intense as some may want for a bold, dramatic look.
- Formula may need to dry a bit before applying additional coats to avoid clumping.
Conclusion
Max Factor 2000 Calorie Pro Stylist Mascara is an excellent choice for anyone who prefers a natural, defined lash look. I found it really easy to use and with everything I want in a mascara on a daily basis.

Comparing the three
All three Max Factor mascaras offer quality and reliable wear, but each one has a specific audience in mind:
False Lash Effect: Best for users who love intense, full-volume lashes for a bold statement look.
MasterpieceMAX: Ideal for those who want a natural, defined lash look that’s versatile for any occasion.
2000 Calorie Pro Stylist: Perfect for those seeking a natural, lightweight mascara that enhances both length and volume without an overly dramatic effect.
Final conclusion
As for me telling you who is my favorite, well that is just impossible. I really loved all of them and I think it all depends on what you are looking for. I found them all really easy to work with after a little getting used to the different brushes. Since i live in Sweden I don’t experience the humidity issues that I know a lot of people do and this might be a reason why none of them smudged on me. My main conclusion is that Max Factor really delivers on their mascaras.
I give them all 7/7
