My thoughts on Max factor Miracle pure skin reset 2 in one serum foundation
Finding a foundation I like always feels like a challenge. With my super dry skin, I prefer light to medium coverage and tend to look for foundations that offer a more dewy finish. My main goal with using a foundation isn’t to cover up, but more to even out my skin tone. This foundation is a serum foundation which simply means that there are skincare beneficial ingredients incorporated in its formula.
Packaging
The packaging is really nice looking. It comes with a dropper which is not my favorite type of packaging but compared to a similar product (that had huge issues with its packaging) this one has an inner plastic sealing which makes it easier to use without making a mess every time you insert the dropper.
Formula, texture and scent
Max factor Miracle pure skin reset 2 in one serum foundation is available in 9 shades. The shade range might feel a bit limited compared to other brands on the market, but since it has a lighter coverage the shade range isn’t as important.
The texture is really lightweight compared to a regular foundation making it easy to build up. It is scented but it is not a strong scent. I prefer using products without scent but you don’t always get what you want.
Application, coverage and finish
As for application, anything goes. I find it really easy to work with and I have tried using fingers, brush and sponge. The only struggle I seem to have is that it dries down really fast. This might be great if you have oily to normal skin types but for dry skin types it might be an issue. The foundation provides light to medium buildable coverage, making it ideal for those seeking a natural, everyday look. It won’t fully conceal all imperfections but works well to even out your skin tone for a more natural finish. Though buildable to some degree, the matte finish may not be the best fit if you have dry skin, like me. Still it looks really beautiful on my skin.
Wearing it
As for wearing it I really like it. It is somewhat drying on my skin (but that is my skins huge issue) so I don’t find it moisturizing. I did find it to settle into my lines a little bit but nothing more than any other foundation does. Other than that, it lasts me the whole day.
Extra tip for really dry skin
If you have really dry skin (like me) you will probably know that foundation can look and be super drying on the skin. Even though products claim to work amazingly for dry skin I often find that they don’t. But there is a couple of solutions to this and first you can add a drop of oil (rosehip or almond) into your foundation (in your palm) and mix it around and applying it as normal. You can also mix it with moisturizer (this makes the shade lighter so use a darker shade if you are doing this). I do both of these methods depending on what foundation I am using and how my skin feels at the moment. I never use powder on top.
Conclusion
Max Factor’s Miracle Pure Skin Reset 2-in-1 Serum Foundation looks really beautiful on my skin. It is somewhat drying (but my skin is really dry to start with). It is a perfect foundation for those who are looking for light coverage but with the opportunity to build it up. Settles just a little into my fine lines but nothing more than any other foundation. A really lovely foundation.
I give this product 5/7
