My thoughts on Max factory skin improving foundation

Max factory is a brand that I don’t buy very often. I really don’t know why because it is a brand that has been around for a really long time and are quite affordable. When I bought this I was a little confused when swatching it but figured it was the lighting in the store causing it to look really weird. And I figured since it is a light coverage product, the shade doesn’t have to be a perfect match. Read more about this further down.

Since my skin is really dry I always prefer using a light to medium coverage foundation or BB cream as well and checking the ingredients this could be a perfect match for me.

Packaging

It comes in a regular plastic tube with an applicator that is called a dropper. I really don’t see a function for the dropper as it is of no use. According to Max factor it is used for precise application but I really don’t agree on that. To me it is more making the product look a little bit more fancy and than finding a reason for it. I don’t think anybody use the applicator since you need to blend the product in anyways. But the packaging is absolutely fine.

Coverage scent and finish

When applying it I found it easiest to use my hands. It blends really nicely into my skin and the coverage is really light. It is buildable, and the only thing the first layer really does is give a nice glow to the skin. I don’t agree that it is medium coverage (or even buildable up to medium). But that doesn’t bother me since I find it gives a natural looking result and the only thing I am mainly after is to even out my skin tone. It will not give any sticky feeling on the skin after it is applied and blended into your skin.

It is not scented which is also a win for me. I don’t see a reason for a foundation or a BB cream to actually be scented at all. But even though it is unscented it does makes my eyes irritated. So if you do have sensitive eyes don’t use it too close to your eyes.

As for its finish it is absolutely dewy so if you have oily skin this is not for you. But for us that have problem with dry skin it is really amazing and it doesn’t make my skin dry during the day.

After wearing it a whole day it has settled into my wrinkles but since it is a light coverage foundation it really doesn’t show that much so not an issue for me.

So this is where it gets weird

When I am swatching this shade it looks like a nice match but after warming it up it suddenly turns super dark and weird. When saying it turns dark I am talking about a lot darker. I have some photos showing it but you can find a video on my YouTube channel where this is really visible.

So normally I would think it would be oxidization but this happens in just a few seconds so it must be when it dries down instead. So if you are looking to buy this make sure to warm it up when swatching it so you really know the shade. If I had known I would have gone for three shades lighter.

Conclusion

This product makes me really confused and I have had a hard time grading it. One part of me likes it and want to give it a higher grade and the other part of me really hates it. I find that it is difficult in choosing the right shade and it is annoying to my eyes but I do like the light dewy finish of it.

So I think this is one of those products you either love or hate, when finally deciding that is.

I give this product 2/7
