My thoughts on NINELESS A Control 10% Azelaic Acid Serum

Before I decided to test this one out I read the information that it was suited for all skin types, but when looking at the product it does say that it is targeted for acne prone skin. My skin type is really dry, but I have hyper pigmentation and uneven skin tone and that was my main thought when trying this product out. Usually when a product is suited for acne prone skin types it is not a good match for me. But I will of course still try it out and maybe there is a way to work around it.

Packaging

The product comes in a regular glass bottle with a dropper. This is a common packaging when it comes to serums and using a dropper makes it easy to get the right amount of product without any waste.

Texture and scent

NINELESS A control 10% azelaic acid serum is lightweight and has almost a gel like consistency. It has no scent, which is a big win for me since I do prefer my skincare products to be without scent. It is easy to apply and absorbs fast into the skin without leaving it sticky or oily.

Application and performance

The serum is recommended to be used after cleansing and toning, either in the morning or evening. As I was a little afraid to how my skin would react (due to the label of acne prone skin on it) I started using it only on areas with hyper pigmentation, then increasing to use as all over my face. It layered well under other skincare products and I did not experience any pilling or problems when using makeup.

Results

I have been using this serum for some time and I really cant say much about the results as of yet. I do see a small change in a few areas with hyper pigmentation but I do think I need much longer time to be able to say more. Since my skin got drier I had to stop using it for now and start using it again during warmer temperatures (I live in Sweden) when I change my skincare routine.

Conclusion

Even though this haven’t been the best match for me during winter I do think it is a nice serum and I am really looking forward in trying it out during spring and summer, when my skin can handle it a little bit better. If you have really dry skin it might be good to know that if you live in a dry climate zone you might need to use a heavy moisturizer if you want to use it. And as all other serums, they need time, so don’t expect something to happen over night.

I give this product 4/7
