How to use it

Mix one tablespoon of NOW Red Clay powder with one-two teaspoon of water. Thoroughly cover the face and neck avoiding sensitive areas and the eyes, allow to set for 15-20 minutes, rinse off and apply moisturizer. If you have really dry skin (like me) add a few drops of a facial oil (e.g. rosehip seed oil or argan oil).

My thoughts on NOW Moroccan red clay powder

Before trying this, I read some reviews on it and I can only say I didn’t find many that were negative. So, I had super high expectations because of the popularity of this mask.

I am a little restrictive in my use of clay masks, due to that they often tend to make my skin really dry. But nowadays when I use a clay mask (depending on how dry my skin is) I add a few drops of facial oil inside the mix and my skin manage the clay mask much better.

The NOW Moroccan red clay powder lasts forever, you only need a tiny amount and for the prize you pay it is amazing.

When mixing it the instructions differs, at Iherb it says 1 tablespoon of powder and 1 teaspoon of water, and on NOW web page it says 50/50. I usually don’t measure, I mix and let the magic happen. But I would recommend starting with 1 tablespoon of powder and then go from there. You can always add more powder or water if needed.

I prefer applying the NOW Moroccan red clay powder mask with a brush. Leaving it on for about 15 minutes. The mask doesn’t have to dry down until you remove it. Just rinse it off after 15-20 minutes and the mask has done what it is supposed to.

I remember reading a review that someone said that it colored their skin, I have never seen that happen to me though. But be sure to rinse until the mask is completely gone.

It does smell, clay, that’s it. there is nothing more added to the product so I am really happy about that.

After washing my face my skin feels really nice and clean. I do feel some dryness but I apply the rest of my routine after using and the dryness doesn’t last.
