Background
Skinfood black sugar strawberry mask
Exfoliates and moisturizes the skin
100g
~11 USD
The exfoliating ingredient is Brazilian black sugar. Sugar is a really good exfoliator because it melts while you massage you skin. Other ingredient like nut shells is much harsher on the skin and can cause some irritation, so you better avoid those.
The product smells like sweet strawberries and the smell just makes me want to eat it. It is quite strong scented but it doesn’t bother me at all, and I am usually quite sensitive to strong smells.
There is no spatula with the jar which is the only downside of this product. So, make sure that your hands are clean before you dip them into the jar or use a spatula. The mask is really thick but you only need a tiny bit. It is also very cheap for the amount of product you get.
Ingredients
Ingredient analysis: Skincarisma
Caprylic/capric triglyceride, sucrose, glycerin, PEG-7 glyceryl cocoate, euphorbia cerifera (candelilla) wax, cetyl ethylhexanoate, stearalkonium hectorite, butyrospermum parkii (shea) butter, lanolin, macadamia ternifolia seed oil, limnanthes alba (meadowfoam) seed oil, fragaria vesca (strawberry) seed, sorbitan laurate, fragaria ananassa (strawberry) seed oil, water, BHT, ethylhexylglycerin, phenoxyethanol, caramel, CI 17290, CI 17986, parfum.
How to use it
As always you should wash your face before you apply it and while your face is wet, apply in gentle circular motions, and if it feels too harsh just add some more water to your hands while applying. Leave it on for 10-15 minutes and then gently wash it off.
Use it once or twice a week depending on the rest of your routine and if you use any other exfoliator. If this is the only exfoliator you use, you might want to use it twice a week.
My thoughts on the Skinfood Black Sugar Strawberry mask
I am totally in love with this product and I am really amazed by it. It smells amazing and after I use it my skin feels so soft and great. This mask comes in a regular version also (with no strawberry’s) and it is also amazing (link to review here). This truly is a product you need, and if you have never tried any Korean products, this is a perfects product to start with. Before I found these masks from Skinfood I used to do my own with sugar, milk, honey and olive oil. But once I found these I didn’t feel like making my own any more.
If you have really dry skin like me, it is really important to exfoliate due to that you get rid of the harsh dry patches. By doing this the products you put after actually get a chance to penetrate your skin. And if your skin is great your makeup will also look great.
I would not recommend using Skinfood black sugar strawberry mask if you are in the middle of a break out. It can actually spread the bacteria around your face, when scrubbing away. Instead use it after or before any periods of bad skin.
This will always be a steady product of mine.
I give this product 7/7
