VT Reedle Shot 100: Does This Micro-Needle Essence Live Up to the Hype?

Micro needling in a bottle. Well that is what people are saying about this serum from VT Cosmetics and of course I just had to try it out. This product was gifted to me for review purposes, but as always my words are my own.

What is VT Reedle Shot 100?
VT Reedle Shot 100 is a skincare treatment designed to gently exfoliate and promote skin renewal. It contains micro-needles (or reedles), which comes from marine spicules. I know, just the thought of needles penetrating your skin can seem like something you would want to stay away from. But regular micro needling tools are commonly used today. And at least to me that is not so weird any longer.
There are mainly 3 versions of this specific reedle shot. The 100, 300 and the 700. They differ in the amount of spicules. I recommend starting with the 100.
What does it do?
The spicules are meant to help with exfoliate and promote skin renewal by penetrating the outer layer of your skin. When the spicules penetrate they help other ingredients in you skincare routine to be more effective. So it will only be as effective as the skincare you use after it.
How to use it
Cleanse your skin and apply toner. Then add 2-3 pumps of the reedle shot and massage into you skin, until fully absorbed. Be sure to avoid the eye area, and follow with the rest of your skincare routine.
It is ok to use this with actives but you should avoid acids. And as always you should do a patch test before using it.
You can use it in your morning or in your evening routine but I prefer using it in the evening when I use the most amount of products.
Is it painful?
No it isn’t. You feel a little tingling, but nothing painful. I would describe is at that same feeling when using a skincare acid on your skin for the first time.
Packaging
It comes in a nice looking pump bottle and I really can’t say that much about it. It is plastic which I find safer for my tiled bathroom floor.
Texture and scent
The texture of the cream is lightweight and absorbs quickly into the skin. It is also unscented which is a big win for me.
Results and reflections
Always when it comes to skincare and proved results I always end up questioning myself. What can I really prove. Well nothing (at least not 100%) to be honest. But what I can tell you is how the product feels on my skin and how I think it works. What I mean by this is that there are so many factors that determines how a product acts on your skin. Factors like skin type, time of the month, climate, environmental factors are just a few.
I have seen so many people rave about this product that they see an immediate change in the skin. And that might happen (I am not questioning others) but I did not notice any changes over night.
My main focus when it comes to my skin is dryness and redness and my hopes were that I might see changes when it comes to those areas.
As for helping with dryness I did not notice any difference. My skin is super dry and it is still winter in Sweden. This product isn’t going to change everything because it all depends on what products you use after you have been using this (it helps other ingredients to penetrate your skin) and I think I need to look for a new hydrating serum (I will update this post when I have tried it together with a new serum).
As for evening my skin tone, I can say that I noticed a small difference (I have been using it with Klairs Vitamin C drops) and I will absolutely keep on using it for that purpose.
Conclusion
This is absolutely a product I will continue using, since I do understand what it does and that it is beneficial for the other ingredients I put on my skin. I find it to be a really interesting product and even though my results isn’t stunning, I feel that I need much longer time to try it out. With different serums and facial products (like a better hydrating serum). I don’t think it is painful at all and I am really looking forward in trying another version of this as well. Updates on this product will absolutely be on a priority list.
