Asian BB creams Vs Other BB creams
What is a BB cream? To start with one must differ between Asian BB creams and the rest of the world.
The first BB creams were created by dermatologists in South Korea in 1985 and the purpose was to treat and protect the skin after skin surgery. Not only to hide the marks but also to treat the skin. Celebrities started using them due to that the skin looked flawless and natural and then it began. Most of the BB creams you find in Europe does not compare to the ones from Asia. They most often don’t do much more for the skin then a tinted moisturizer does. But there are brands that are moving towards how the Korean does it.
Still there is nothing wrong in using any type of BB creams if one feels like it. Asian BB creams and then first of all the Koreans has a reputation for being a true all in one product. They act as a serum, moisturizer, sunblock, primer and foundation. It will even out the skin tone, brightening the skin and conceal blemishes.
BB cream differs from foundation due to that it has multiple functions to make your skin look fresh and beautiful and not only cover things up.
What is a BB cream and what does it do?
A BB cream is not supposed to cover up all the blemishes and scars but instead decrease the effect they make on the skin. When completely covering up something it often looks very unnatural and that is really the opposite of Korean preferences. If full coverage is needed it is perfect to use the BB cream as a base for the rest of your makeup. That is underneath your foundation.
Then of course there are many different BB creams with different benefits to the skin and when you choose your BB cream you should look for what properties you need in a product. If you have dry skin look for BB creams that are really moisturizing and if you have oily skin go for the opposite. If you do have a lot of acne scars and you feel like you need full coverage, either go for a BB cream with high coverage or one that is buildable. Or simply use it underneath your favorite foundation.
But I guess the most important thing to think about when choosing a BB cream is its effects on the skin due to that is has so many benefits for the skin so really choose one that suits your needs.
There are so many BB creams to choose from, so the best tip is to start ordering samples to test the shades and the coverage to find a perfect match for you.
